Jesus said, “Go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to obey everything I’ve commanded you.” (Matthew 28:19-20a)
Here at Front Royal Presbyterian Church, we know it takes more than a confession of faith and baptism to make a committed disciple of Jesus Christ. As someone has said, “Disciples are made not born.” The habits of Christian spiritual and ethical life are developed over time as people are instructed by others and imitate the lives of those who model Jesus before them. This is why we place much emphasis on education, training, and learning at our church: making disciples. To accomplish this, we provide children, youth, and adult Sunday School classes. Our three adult classes approach making disciples in different ways: one uses standard weekly Sunday School lessons, one studies the weekly sermon text, and one has an eclectic approach. Our children use the highly successful “One-Room School House” curriculum in their classes: Nursery through Pre-K (0-4), K-2nd Grade (5-7), and 3rd-5th Grace. Our youth employ an interest-centered approach to the Bible and theology. But we also know that disciples are made on other days than Sunday. This is why we have Presbytery Women who meet monthly for Bible study, Wednesday night activities like our Pastor’s studies on the Bible and other topics, and Women on Wednesday’s study. The Pastor also offers his studies on weekday afternoons so people can attend during daylight hours.

All are welcome to participate in the “making” of disciples. Contact the church office (635-3894) or email admin@frontroyalpres.org for exact times and offerings.
